Grounded in a comprehensive review

H₂VALIS is calibrated on Hydrogen Production Pathways: A Comprehensive Review of Techno-Economic Performance, Scale Economics, Learning Rates, Storage, Transportation, Environmental and Social Impacts, and a Case Study. The platform preserves the report's strongest principle: calculate only where the evidence supports calculation.

What the report already provides

  • — Coherent production–storage–transport architecture
  • — Literature harmonisation to a common monetary and technical basis
  • — Calibrated equations for PEM, AEL and SOEC
  • — Storage and transport cost relationships
  • — Degradation and stack-replacement treatment
  • — Levelised-cost calculations
  • — Environmental and social screening indicators
  • — Evidence classifications and validity warnings
  • — A worked 12 MW case study
  • — A controlled equation and assumption register

Deliberate limits at launch

  • — Production: PEM, AEL and SOEC only; other families reserved
  • — Storage sizing beyond a 24 h reference duration ships in Wave 3; hourly dispatch and cavern feasibility ship in Wave 4
  • — Shipping is benchmark-only until terminals and carriers are calibrated
  • — Formal uncertainty (Monte Carlo, tornado, CIs) ships in Wave 4
  • — Financial screening ships in Wave 3; full bankable cash flow with debt, depreciation and subsidies in Wave 4

A note on naming

H₂VALIS is the working name — Hydrogen Value-chain Assessment, Learning, Impacts and Scale. The names H-ATLAS / H₂ Atlas are avoided because they are already strongly associated with other hydrogen-atlas initiatives and the Herschel-ATLAS astronomy survey. Formal trademark, corporate-name, domain and social-handle searches will complete before public launch.
